About Us
The YMCA Foundation was founded in 1969. Its purpose is to provide an endowment fund that will support the YMCA of Middle Tennessee for generations to come. The priorities of the Foundation are to support expansion of buildings and facilities, development and training of professional leadership, major maintenance, and extension of services.

The Foundation accepts gifts of cash, securities, and other assets. The endowment is growing primarily as a result of the Foundation's emphasis on planned gifts. The Foundation is enriched when it is named as a beneficiary of a donor's will, insurance policy, retirement plan or trust. The Heritage Club is comprised of those donors who have made planned gifts to the Foundation.
Donors to the Foundation may make a gift to the general fund, or they may designate their gift to a particular center or program. Gifts to the general fund allow the Foundation's Board to select the program or service that is especially deserving of financial support at a given time. Funds designated to a particular center or program allow the donor to ensure, on a permanent basis, that the center or program continues to serve its community.
The YMCA Foundation is committed to being a good steward of the funds entrusted to it. Click here to see its most recent Form 990 as filed with the Internal Revenue Service.
